I needed a bit of light relief after the marathon effort on Sky City, so I dashed off a very simple skyscape and distant ship.
I don't often put much thought into the world behind the painting - my aim is purely to get an image out of my head and onto paper - but in this case I envisaged the ship as some sort of research and exploration vessel.
In this painting, I wanted to convey an impression of great size in the ship that is nevertheless overshadowed by the immensity of nature.
